Students of seven Dhaka University (DU) affiliated colleges, who staged demonstration by blocking city’s Nilkhet intersection earlier in the day, have withdrawn blockade after DU Vice-chancellor gave assurance for realizing their demand.

Students blocked the road from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Thursday (January 18) demanding results publication for 2014-15 academic sessions.

DU VC Professor Dr. Akhteruzzaman assured them to publish results within February 25. The blockade was withdrawn right after this announcement.

Students of seven DU affiliated colleges have been staging demonstration in demand of results publication for 2014-15 academic sessions by January and announcement of third year examinations schedule by March.

On the exams schedule, the DU VC said, “We will declare the schedule after completing some mandatory procedures.”

The two hour blockade created huge traffic congestion in and around Nilkhet areas causing tremendous sufferings to city dwellers.
